Piece of junk but so are the competing products apparently,
This will be the fifth adaptor I’ve purchased or received on warranty exchange for HP Pavilion notebooks. Four HP-brand adaptors, one aftermarket.
The strain relief on both ends of the DC cable is poorly designed. The wires at the barrel of the connector that goes into the computer tend to come loose or melt the insulation. The strain relief at the body of the connector breaks or comes loose. No complaints about the AC cord or the power supply itself.
The one aftermarket supply I purchased lasted only about a month before the DC cable came apart. At least the original HP units last for a year or so.
Am puchasing two this time. When those go I’ll go laptop shopping. It won’t be an HP.

|Defective product; NO customer service,
The adapter worked fine for about a month and a half, then needed to be wiggled around to work, then quit working altogether. I sent the company a polite email about it. It did not even occur to me that they wouldn’t replace it. (No; it’s not a problem with my laptop, which works fine with my friend’s laptop charger).
I literally had NO response–not even an auto response. I made a claim via Amazon that was not honored because it had been longer than 14 days. I then sent two more emails to Westronics to give them the chance to make things right. Again, nothing. I am open-mouthed about this. I have never had a company be so utterly contemptuous of its customers.
My recommendation: don’t even THINK about buying anything at all from Westronics. If I could give this company and this product no stars, I would.

|Genuine HP Replacement & Great Value,
I researched a lot of power cord/chargers to replace my OEM damaged cord and saw a lot of horror stories about various knock-off brands. Almost ordered what purported to be genuine “HP” cord only to find it was by another company with the same initials and suspiciously similar name.
I purchased two power cords so I wouldn’t have to keep unplugging and dragging them up and down the stairs. They arrived new and work great. The design even seems to be an improvement over my OEM cord. The end which plugs into the computer has a longer section of cord between the actual plug and the fat round piece which is a little further down the cord (not sure what it does) which allows the cord to bend naturally without stressing the plug end (breaking the cord housing and eventually the wires, which is what doomed the OEM cord–causing a short and finally failure).
I would definitely recommend this item for both design/functionality and value.
