Supposed to be new,
Just got the battery 2 hours ago. Stated that it was a new genuine Lenovo battery. Well my original battery lasted me about 5 years with still approx. 55% of its oringinal battery life still available. My laptop would only last about 1.5 hours unless I set to really save battery would get maybe 1.75 hours. So I decided to get a new one. Came here to Amazon to find the battery and I saw this one. Said it was new and was a genuine IBM Lenovo Thinkpad battery. So once received I looked at the box that it was in, I’ve purchased a lot of Lenovo parts and this box by no means came in the genuine Lenovo box. But I still figured I would give it a shot. Powered down my system and removed the old battery, and installed the supposedly new one. Battery light started flashing once I plugged in the laptop. Powered on the system and once in windows I opened the power management application from Lenovo. Noticed that it was charging and decided to look at some of the finer details of the battery. Here is where it hit me! First I saw that the battery was only at 90% of original capacity, next I noticed that the battery had been cycled 121 times. Then I noticed that the battery was manufactured in 2009. Batteries don’t really have a good shelf life so this is a problem for me. Currently going to do a full charge and will try to perform a reset. If that does not fix the issue I will be sending this back to Amazon! Still cycled 121 times is a big problem especially when it is being sold as new! Will update with results shortly.

This Lenovo part fit like a glove because it is original! It was just what I needed and at a great price! I remember when you had to throw the laptop away b/c the battery was expensive but not anymore. Genuine Lenovo Thinkapd IBM battery will probably last through the life of the laptop. Very happy!

Although I was reluctant to ‘invest’ in my 3+ year-old Lenovo laptop, the failure of the original battery made using this laptop inconvenient. I chose this battery since it was represented as a genuine Lenovo product. It arrived in very good condition and the laptop works very well with it. I was also very happy with the service from the supplier.
